2016 Business Achievement Awards
On February 23, 2017, at Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club, the Orillia District
Chamber of Commerce will acknowledge businesses that have excelled in the
following categories in 2016:
Technological Advancement – To the company that
has invested significantly in technology which improves their level of customer
service, creates jobs and/or benefits the region.
Leadership in Training - To the employer who
takes a progressive and active role in obtaining training for their employees
and/or themselves, to ensure that their business goals are met and that a high
level of customer service is delivered consistently.
Company Expansion - To the business that
has physically expanded their existing location, or has moved to a larger
location, or has opened additional locations.
Site Enhancement - Renovation and
Upgrade - A business that has undertaken significant internal and/or
external renovation to their premises and/or upgraded systems or equipment to
better serve their customer.
Marketing and Promotion - To the business that
promotes and markets themselves, or their community, in an outstanding and
Entrepreneurial Initiative - To the owner that has
opened their new business in 2016, congratulating them on their hard work and
entrepreneurial initiative. Or to the business who has invented a new product or
service using their entrepreneurial initiative.
Customer Service - To the business that
has been recognized by their customers to provide a high level of service
consistently, or who is seen to far surpass their customers’ expectations in
the delivery of their product or service. Please give a specific example.
Longevity Award - Recognition of
businesses that have been part of our local economy for many years (minimum
thirty years to qualify).
Green Award - To the business that has made a
noticeable effort in product development or conservation practices that have a
positive impact on our environment.
Communities – In recognition of a business that fosters community
involvement, through the actions of the business or by supporting their
employees in community endeavors.
Rebuilding Orillia - In
recognition of a business that invests in renovating and updating long
established Orillia sites, making a conscious effort to recreate what already
exists. These efforts facilitate a new generation of business.

Young Entrepreneurs Support
The Orillia District Chamber of Commerce is offering
important support for young entrepreneurs in our local economy!
The program is a work in progress but we have committed to
offering FREE 2017 Chamber membership to registered business owners under the age
of 30. We will match young entrepreneurs with more “experienced” Chamber
members at our monthly Business After 5 networking events.
